22 April 2015 Place: Auckland The Shamoun Team has been exceptionally busy here in Auckland. We’ve moved locations to Silo Marina and we’ve been tented up to prepare for the rainy Auckland winter. There are a few yachts around us with a great bunch of crew.
We have commissioned the deck to be replaced as well as overhauling one of our generators. While the deck and engineering teams are working hard on perfecting Shamoun’s mechanics, the interior team has been focusing on the finer details inside. A lot of attention has been given to the guest cabins and service ware.
Shamoun has also tried to help out as much as we could in efforts to raise money and goods to donate to Vanuatu after their massive cyclone devastation, that hit them in late March. We are exceptionally proud of the efforts of our fellow yachting community. Everyone really pulled together to raise and gather as much as possible.
We’ve been lucky enough to get to explore some of the beautiful beaches and outdoor activities that New Zealand has to offer. We’ve collectively found that the locals are friendly and keen to help! All the food we’ve been treated to has been really good. So far, so good!
Regards,
The Shamoun Team
