THE SHAMOUN BLOG

Place: Auckland

9 Days away from Christmas! How exciting! The Shamoun team has been pretty busy. We’re finishing off all our respective job lists, sea trialing as well as finding time to do some charity work for our local community.

We took part in the annual “Santa-Run” for the charity Kids Can. This charity helps ensure that all Kiwi kids affected by poverty can look forward to a brighter future. The event was attended by 5000 runners, all dressed up in santa suits. Lots of fun, for a good cause!

We’ve also done quite a few sea trials, all with very good outcomes. We stuck all the sails up over the weekend and had a couple of days of hard work, tweaking everything, but very enjoyable sails.

The next week sees us winding down for a few days over Christmas and then getting ourselves prepared for what we hope to be a busy 2016! Kicking off with the Millenium Cup, in the Bay of Islands on the 27th of January.

We would also like so say a massive thank-you and a heartfelt farewell to Leroy McDougall, who has been our junior Deck Hand and a massive part of our Shamoun family for the last 2 and a bit years. Leroy is flying the coup, off to start his own adventures! All the best Leroy. Safe Sails to you, we’ll miss you! You always have a family here on Shamoun!

Have a very Merry and safe Festive Season everyone!

Seasons Greetings,
The Shamoun Team
