Mandela Day, 18 July, is an international day of humanitarian action, in celebration of the late Nelson Mandela’s life and legacy. It is a global movement, which recognizes that positive change begins with small actions. Shamoun would like to urge all our fellow Yachties and friends to get involved in this year’s “Madiba Day” and do something positive within your local community. Lets use this as our chance to give back, whether it’s donating cash to a local charity, visiting the folks at an old-age-home, helping out with maintenance at a local orphanage or spending time with animals at the local shelter, no deed is too small or insignificant.
The Shamoun Team spent our 67 minutes helping out at Langkawi LASSie. LASSie is set-up to receive, rehabilitate & care for neglected, abused and needy animals. It also runs the Langkawi Island Animal Clinic - a charity project aimed at the sterilization of the stray cat & dog population.
The Shamoun Crew and management raised $1400, which we donated to the World Wildlife Fund.
